Thursday gave us a beautiful warm sunny fall morning. Rebecca dropped David, Wendy and me off at the subway station (the “T” or MBTA) not too far from their apartment, and we rode the Red Line into downtown Boston and then did a walking tour of historic sites (Faneuil Hall, Old State House, Boston Massacre site, Old South Church, Kings Chapel and burial ground) and saw the Old North Church (of the famous “two if by sea” lanterns). It was very interesting to hear of the politics of the days just prior to the Revolutionary War and how public support for independence came about.
For lunch we had NE clam chowder at the historic Quincy Market.
