We learned that Massachusetts is a major apple-growing state, and we tasted a number of varieties from there. On Saturday afternoon we went with the whole family to Honey Pot Hill Orchards in Stow, MA, possibly a 20-30 minute drive NW of Belmont. This is a working apple orchard (u-pick earlier in the season) with its own store and also a farm animal petting zoo, pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits, chickens. Ben seemed especially thrilled with the animals and bravely fed pellets to sheep and petted rabbits through the mesh in their cages.
In the evening, Wendy and I tended the boys so that David and Rebecca could do some shopping, have dinner, and attend the evening session of Stake conference. We fed them macaroni and cheese, played with them and read stories, and bathed them and put them to bed. It was a great time.
