Peaches

Here are the first peaches that came from one of our two little peach trees. This is half of the crop of six, on the early Elberta tree. For several weeks we have been out to these trees at least daily to see if any peaches are ripe enough to fall off in our hand when we give them a gentle tug. Finally the payoff!

The later Elberta tree has five or six dozen fruits. Is there anything that is better tasting than tree-ripened peaches?

MONDAY: Wendy made this out-of-this-world peach cobbler tonight, using four big peaches from the early tree. So sweet, so full of flavor. Yum!
