The varmints are back along the Spanish Fork River Trail.
We spotted a large Rock Chuck (yellow-bellied marmot) yesterday as we hiked along the river trail about half a mile east of the new parking lot on what we used to call Tree Road. See sample picture. Wendy calls this area Rock Chuck Park.
We also saw the stumps of a couple of young saplings that looked as if they had been felled by beavers real recently.
The city eradicated the previous marmot colony and beavers several years ago to our dismay.
